I’m originally from Taiwan, and it was a wonderful opportunity to introduce my husband, a foreigner, to my beloved hometown. We stumbled upon the BE MY GUEST TAIPEI cooking class online, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. Our journey began with a guided tour of a traditional Taiwanese market and Dadaocheng, which happens to be Taipei City’s biggest and oldest Old Street. Alex, our guide, made the historic country tour truly enjoyable. After the tour, we eagerly joined him in his studio for a cooking class that allowed us to create traditional Taiwanese dishes from scratch. It was not only fun but also incredibly delicious. Both of us had an amazing time, and it felt like we were truly immersing ourselves in Taiwanese culture. We wholeheartedly recommend this local cultural tour to every foreigner visiting Taipei. It’s a wonderful way to experience the city and its culture, and you’re bound to create lasting memories from this class.

這是一個非常棒的課程，如果你有外國朋友來台灣這是一個快速可以認識台灣文化及美食的課程。從一開始介紹台灣的歷史背景到傳統市場各種食材的介紹，讓我這個道地的台灣人，可以重新認識不同的領域。

Alex is exceptionally talented in the kitchen. He showed us around the local neighborhood, brought us to the market to learn about the fresh ingredients we would be using and then he taught us how to make two typical Taiwanese dishes. The food was delicious and easy to prepare with all of the ingredients prepped and ready to go. Alex is very kind and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this cooking class and will definitely repeat next time I’m in Taiwan!

參加「好客台北」大稻埕小旅行煮食活動。 地點在大稻埕十連棟，9:30集合,首先主辦單位Alex帶我們爬三層樓高樓梯到河堤欣賞新店溪遼闊。十連棟旁台北橋始於光緒年間為木造橋，橋上也有火車通過，造就大稻埕地區活絡商業活動。台北橋歷經五次整修到今天的規模，我最喜歡第三次外觀似現在的西螺大橋。 接著我們走訪了太平傳統市場，拜訪有86年歷史的延平教會，再回到十連棟址，結束小小歷史回顧，準備學做「英國鄉村派」或稱「牧羊人派」。我們回到十連棟的私廚,喝著咖啡愜意準備食材，聽Alex解說步驟，一步一步完成擺盤，進烤箱後慢慢食物香氣瀰漫滿屋。我想起日劇「多謝款待」，生活煮食、吃食讓人有幸福感。幸福的一天！ 我也要說「Alex多謝款待」。
